Handcrafted guitar pedals
Everything here was once a dream. The original idea came up at the end of 2022. The products we were going to start with were chosen in January 2023.
Then, it took a lot of research, love, work and dedication to make the dream come true.
We've had our share of sweat and tears. Mistakes and successes. Doubts and uncertainties. And now we are finally here, in Curitiba, Brazil.
Our pedals, the fruit of all this work, are ready.
We have not reached the end of the journey. In fact, this is the beginning.

Since I was a child, I took things apart to see how they worked. And I think I was born in a good time for that. The clocks had thousands of parts and gears, the dolls had small motors that made them talk (sisters, sorry for the dismantling). Telephones, televisions, cassette players, everything had many parts, gears, magnets, belts and screws. There were many extremely intelligent mechanical solutions to solve problems with the most diverse equipment.
Today the advancement of technology allows many things to be solved by software on small microcontrollers. It's still fascinating, but in my opinion, a 3-pin chip doesn't have the same old glamor as a micro switch.
Don't get me wrong, I'm a fan of technology. I develop embedded systems, software, cell phone applications and other very advanced things. And I believe that good programming code has something artistic in itself. But the counterpoint, the analogue, the continuous, as opposed to the discrete, kind of takes us back to the infinite, to the singular.
I have worked with electronics for many years. I took an electronics technician course, at the former CEFET-PR (currently UTFPR) and then electrical industrial engineering, there at CEFET as well. That was around the last millennium (1998, mind you) and since then, I've been designing things, solutions and products for industry. A product, service or something made on an industrial scale always demands optimized solutions, both in cost and functionality: The cheapest circuit, the most efficient code, the most standardized product. And it's really cool to do something like that. That's what engineering is, making maximums with minimums. However, in this type of work, with so many rules, there is no denying that the creative process is a little limited.
And it is precisely with a desire to express this creativity that Electronic Dreams was born. Carry out creative, passionate, artistic projects. Where the commitment to beauty trumps the desire for efficiency. Have fun in the process. The path being more important than the destination. Produce, but with the intention of sharing something personal, something that has meaning.
The development and production process of our line of guitar pedals represents this: They are completely analog. Each model with a unique design. Created, tested and assembled by me. Made with affection, as if they were made for myself or a loved one. The choice of components, circuits, designs, finishes, packaging, everything has the intention of making something special. Deliver something unique.
Like a Chef who leaves a 5-star restaurant to open his small bistro, I used all my experience of more than 25 years in electronics to create an exclusive and original line of analogue pedals.
Do I intend to produce these pedals forever? I don't know. I think that in the same way as in woodcuts, after a few copies, other works of art, other projects will emerge and take the place of the old ones. It's fun and I hope that anyone who uses an Electronic Dreams pedal has the same joy playing it that I had building it.
